The Story of Scrunchii

Statement from the Creator

I created Scrunchii during the unprecedented times of Lockdown 2020. It was a dream that I had always envisaged but never had the time to pursue. Being stopped in my tracks at University of studying to become a Primary School Teacher and being told to stay at home like the rest of the nation, I decided to create something positive and empowering, so I created Scrunchii.

Being an elite gymnast from a very young age, I was put through high intensity training and competitions which allowed me to find the strength I had in myself as an individual, as well as my strong passion for Scrunchies. It became a ritual that after each competition I would treat myself to a new Scrunchie to get me through the hard times of training I knew I had ahead until I faced another competition.

I decided that I became a very good judge of Scrunchie Character in being able to identify the good ones from the ones that would snap. I also developed an eye for style that allowed me to go through my schedule with confidence and strength, knowing my Scrunchie made me stand out.

It is with all these experiences and emotions that I was left to face during Lockdown that I decided to express my memories and moments in life through designing and creating Scrunchies. I hand-make these myself in my room where I would of been studying, had it not been for multiple Lockdowns. What makes my Scrunchies stand out from the rest are that I only use the best quality fabric and materials, carefully crafting each Scrunchie with attention to detail.

I can confidently say that every design and creation is carefully thought-through and has it's own unique story to tell. I also like to believe that similar to every Scrunchie I wore to get me through the good and bad days of being an elite athlete, each Scrunchie has its own superpowers to get you through anything you put your mind to.
